Whitby Food Truck Frenzy 2026
Every Victoria Day weekend follow-up, the south parking lot of Iroquois Park turns into the biggest food truck party in Durham Region. The Whitby Food Truck Frenzy, hosted by the Rotary Club of Whitby, returns Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31, 2026 — and after pulling in crowds of more than 25,000 people in past years, this one is shaping up to be the biggest yet.
Think 30+ food trucks slinging everything from smash burgers and jerk chicken to dumplings, tacos, churros and BeaverTails. A licensed beer tent pouring Town Brewery. A massively expanded Kids Zone with jumping castles and free face painting. A new Makers Market full of local artisans. And the best part — every $5 ticket goes straight back into local and global charities.

💡 This is a 100% volunteer-run fundraiser. The Rotary Club of Whitby has donated more than $300,000 from this event back into the community over the years — so go ahead and order the second poutine.
✨ Why This Festival Is Worth Your Weekend
Food Truck Frenzy isn’t the kind of festival that needs a hard sell. You show up, you wander, you eat. There’s no schedule to keep up with, no headliner to catch — just two full days of grazing your way around the parking lot at Iroquois Park, drink in hand, with the whole town doing the same.
What makes it actually special is the lineup of vendors. The Rotary team has built relationships with some of Ontario’s best-known mobile kitchens — Heirloom, Philthy Phillys, Smoke’s Poutinerie, Buster Sea Cove, Tiny Tom’s, BeaverTails — and rounds it out with smaller operators you’ve probably never heard of but won’t forget. Caribbean, Vietnamese, Mexican, Greek, dumplings, donuts, ice cream, kettle corn. Pretty much every craving is covered.
And then there’s the impact. Every $5 ticket and every donation at the gate goes back into the community — this is the Rotary Club of Whitby’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and over $300,000 raised has supported local charities, youth programs, and international aid. It’s a rare festival where eating four meals in a row counts as community service.
📅 The Weekend at a Glance
Two days, ten hours-ish each, no set program — just show up when you’re hungry.
Sat · May 30
11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
The longer day, and the busier one. Lunch is the easiest time to graze without huge lines. Dinner gets crowded but has the best vibe — the beer tent fills up, the lot stays warm, and everyone’s in a good mood. If you’re bringing kids, aim for early afternoon when the Kids Zone is in full swing.
Sun · May 31
11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday tends to be the slightly more relaxed day, which means shorter lines at the trucks that had crowds wrapped around them on Saturday. Some trucks sell out of certain items on Sunday afternoon, so if there’s a specific dish you’re after, get there earlier in the day.
All Weekend
Beer Tent · Kids Zone · Makers Market · 50/50 Raffle
Town Brewery is on tap inside the fenced area (excluding the Kids Zone), with coolers, wine, pop and water also available. The expanded Kids Zone runs both days with jumping castles, free face painting, candy floss and games. The Makers Market is new for 2026 and features local Ontario artisans. The 50/50 raffle is online via Rafflebox — you can buy tickets right from your phone at the event.

🤲 The Kids Zone
If you’ve got little ones, this is genuinely one of the best parts of the festival — and it’s been expanded for 2026. The Kids Zone is set up as its own area inside the event, away from the beer tent, with everything kids actually want to do at a festival.
You’ll find jumping castles, candy floss, free face painting, and a rotating roster of activities to keep kids entertained while you take your time at the trucks. Combine that with the fact that admission is free for anyone 14 and under, and it works out to be one of the more affordable family days you’ll have all spring.
Tip: bring wipes. So many wipes.
💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
🚗 Park at the GO station, not the venue. The South parking lot at Iroquois Park is the event itself — there’s no parking there. The Whitby GO Train lot is free all weekend, and it’s a short walk over.
💰 Bring a card, not a wallet of cash. Most trucks have tap, but ATMs are on site if you find a holdout. Realistically, plan to spend $30–50 per adult if you want to genuinely sample.
🚚 Go hungry, go in pairs. The unwritten rule of food truck festivals: split everything. Two people can hit six trucks for the price of two meals each. Solo, you’re tapping out at three.
🐶 Pets stay home. It’s a Pet-Free Zone — food, crowds, and dogs don’t mix well, and there have been close calls in past years. Service dogs are welcome with a vest or documentation.
🕯 Saturday dinner is the peak. If you hate lines, come Sunday lunchtime. If you love the buzz, Saturday from 5–8PM is when the festival hits its full energy.
🚫 No smoking or vaping anywhere inside the fenced event area — including the beer tent.
Where Your $5 Goes 💛
Food Truck Frenzy is the Rotary Club of Whitby’s biggest annual fundraiser. Over $300,000 raised so far has gone back into local charities, youth initiatives, food security programs, and international Rotary causes. You can also throw in a few extra bucks at the gate, grab a 50/50 raffle ticket online, or sign up to volunteer for a shift — all of it makes a difference.
