β¨ Why This Festival Is Worth a Visit
Taste of Vietnam has grown into one of Toronto’s bigger cultural showcases since it began in 2019, drawing crowds that have climbed from the thousands into the tens of thousands at Nathan Phillips Square. It’s run by volunteers through Ao Dai Canada and the Better Futures For Kids Foundation, two non-profits built around sharing Vietnamese heritage and raising awareness against human trafficking and child exploitation.
The 2026 edition carries the theme Vietnam Around the World, focused on the traditions and connections that follow Vietnamese communities wherever they settle. Expect the festival’s signature mix: an Ao Dai parade showcasing Vietnam’s national dress, live music and dance, an art exhibition, and a long row of food vendors serving phα», bΓ‘nh mΓ¬, and other staples of Vietnamese cooking.
The setting helps too β Nathan Phillips Square sits right in front of Toronto City Hall, with the reflecting pool, the Freedom Arches, and plenty of open space, making it an easy downtown stop whether you’re coming for an hour or staying all evening.

The festival runs three days, with different live performances scheduled throughout each one. A detailed performance lineup hadn’t been published at the time of writing β check the official Instagram or website closer to the date for set times.

π Getting There
Nathan Phillips Square sits in the heart of downtown Toronto, directly in front of City Hall, making it one of the easiest festival sites in the city to reach without a car.
By transit: Queen Station and Osgoode Station on Line 1 both let out within a short walk of the square, and several streetcar routes run along Queen Street.
Parking: Downtown street parking is limited and metered; the Toronto City Hall underground garage and several nearby paid lots are the more reliable options.

π‘ A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
βοΈ Mid-July downtown can get hot. The square has limited shade, so sunscreen and water are worth packing, especially for the Friday and Saturday daytime hours.
π΅ Bring cash for vendors. Food and craft stalls at outdoor festivals don’t always have reliable card readers, so a mix of payment methods is a safer bet.
π Skip the drive if you can. With two subway stations within walking distance and limited downtown parking, transit is the easier way in, especially on the busier Friday and Saturday evenings.
π± Follow along on Instagram. Performer announcements and schedule details tend to roll out closer to the festival on @tasteofvietnamtoronto.
Supporting a Bigger Cause π
