✨ Why This Fair Is Worth the Trip
“For over a century and a half, this cherished tradition has brought our community together to celebrate the very best of rural life,” says Township of Brock Mayor Michael Jubb — and the 171st edition backs that up with a schedule that runs almost non-stop across two days. This isn’t a fair where you show up for an hour and leave; between the Community Stage, the Curling Club Stage, the Grand Stands, and the Horse Ring, there’s genuinely something happening in a different corner of the grounds almost every half hour.
The lineup mixes serious agricultural competition — Open Beef, Sheep, and Horse Shows, the Durham West 4-H Achievement Day, Junior Gymkhana — with entertainment most small fairs don’t attempt at this scale: an Extreme Dogs Stunt Show running multiple times each day, a full Car Show on the baseball diamond, and live music acts including Johnny Barron Country Music and recording artist Alycia Hebert. The pedal tractor pull alone runs five separate times across the weekend, which tells you something about how much the organizers have packed in.
The weekend closes the way a lot of Ontario fall fairs do — with motorsport spectacle. Friday night brings a Demo Cross, and Saturday night closes with the full Demolition Derby at the Grand Stands, both preceded by a Beer Garden upstairs at the Curling Club for the 19+ crowd.

Everybody pays — there are no exceptions for officials, employees, exhibitors, or concessionaires, and all gate admissions include HST. Bikes, skateboards, pets, and outside alcohol aren’t permitted anywhere on the grounds, and the Fair Board reserves the right to inspect bags at the gate. The Beer Garden, for 19+ only, runs both evenings upstairs at the Curling Club.
If you’re exhibiting, the adult exhibitor fee is $5 and covers unlimited entries across any class — junior exhibitors under 18 pay nothing unless entering an adult class. Exhibits must be in place by 8:00 pm Thursday before the fair, with judging starting that evening; adult registration is at the Curling Club and junior registration at the Scout Hall, both starting at 1:00 pm Thursday.
📜 More Than 170 Years in Beaverton
The Beaverton Agricultural Society has run this fair since roughly the 1850s, putting the 171st edition in 2026 among the oldest continuous fall fairs in this part of Ontario. As Mayor Michael Jubb put it in his welcome message this year, the fair has “brought our community together to celebrate the very best of rural life” for over a century and a half — agricultural roots, local talent, and community spirit, all still recognizable in the 2026 program.
The fair is entirely volunteer-run through the Beaverton Agricultural Society’s board, which holds its Annual General Meeting every January and welcomes new volunteers throughout the year. A long list of local sponsors — from the Beaverton Lions Club and Beaverton Curling Club to area farms, hardware stores, and the Township of Brock itself — helps keep the fair financially viable year after year, a genuinely community-funded operation rather than a commercially sponsored event.
The 2026 theme, “Stitch and Grow, Put on a Show,” nods to the homecraft and agricultural roots that have anchored the fair since the 1800s, while the expanded entertainment lineup — stunt dogs, a fashion show, multiple live acts — shows how much the fair has grown around that original core without losing it.
🚗 Getting There
The fair runs at the Foster Hewitt Memorial Community Centre, 176 Main St, in Beaverton, part of the Township of Brock. The fairgrounds span the arena, the neighbouring Curling Club, the baseball diamond, and the Horse Ring, so plan on some walking between venues over the course of the day.
Parking: Parking inside the gates costs $3. Grounds are patrolled by security from Friday morning through Saturday closing.

💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
🎫 Weigh the weekend pass. At $25, the advance weekend pass beats paying $15 twice for both days — and the $50 family pass is worth it for two adults with kids in tow.
🎪 Leave pets at home. No pets, bikes, skateboards, or outside alcohol are allowed anywhere on the grounds, no exceptions.
💥 Get there early for the Demo Cross or Derby. Both nights close with a big Grand Stands draw — arrive well before the 7 pm and 8 pm start times for a good spot.
🐕 Catch the Extreme Dogs Stunt Show more than once. It runs multiple times each day at the Grass Area, so there’s no need to rush if you miss the first showing.
🎒 Pack light. Backpacks and bags are subject to inspection at the gate, so a smaller bag will make entry quicker.
