✨ Why This Fair Is Worth the Drive

Forest has been holding a fall fair in one form or another since 1870 — the first was at the corner of Broadway and Main, then a militia drill shed, then a 12-acre park called Forest Pleasure Park. The town bought the current grounds in 1939 and has leased them to the Forest and District Agricultural Society ever since, giving the fair a genuinely deep-rooted home in Lambton Shores.

The horse programming here is unusually thorough for a fair this size: a Light Horse Show and Light Horse Speed Show, a Heavy Horse Show with Clydesdale, Percheron, Belgian, wagon horse, Haflinger, and mule classes, plus an Equine Jumping Show that’s become a fan favourite. Dairy and beef cattle shows round out the agricultural side, alongside a full weekend of homecraft, culinary, flower, and grains and vegetable exhibits judged in the exhibit hall.

What sets Forest apart is the entertainment lineup wrapped around all that agriculture. Friday night closes with a 10-minute musical fireworks show by Fired Up Pyrotechnics, backed by a double-headliner concert from Brothers Wilde (2025 London Songwriters of the Year) and 4 Ounce Pour. Saturday’s parade steps off from the old arena at noon and arrives at the fairgrounds by 12:30, and Sunday brings the Demolition Derby and a kids’ Power Wheels heat to close out the weekend. Mojo Magic’s family shows and balloon twisting run throughout the Kid’s Zone all three days, and a Paw Patrol meet-and-greet with Chase is new for 2026.

The Forest Fairgrounds sit at 45 Jefferson Street West, at the corner of Jefferson and Argyle Streets, in Forest, part of the Municipality of Lambton Shores near Sarnia and Lake Huron.

🎫 Buy the weekend pass if you’re staying all three days. At $40, it beats $45 in separate day tickets and skips repeat gate lines.

🎆 Stick around Friday night for the fireworks. The 9:00 PM show is a nice cap to opening night, with a rain date built in for Saturday.

🎡 Buy midway passes early. All-day ride passes go on sale online starting August 10, ahead of the fair weekend.

💥 Save Sunday afternoon for the derby. It starts at 1:00 PM in the in-field ring and is one of the weekend’s most anticipated events.
