โจ Why This Fair Is Still the Big One
The Orangeville Agricultural Society has been putting on this fair since the 1850s, and in 2026 it marks its 172nd year โ one of the older continuous agricultural fairs in the region. Even as the area around Orangeville and Dufferin County has grown more suburban, the fair has stayed the largest single community event on the local calendar.
It hits the classic fall fair notes โ dairy and livestock judging, a Cope Midway with rides and games, and a truck and tractor pull that draws a serious crowd โ but it’s grown into something bigger than the barns. Between the vintage snowmobile show, a classic car show, live bands each afternoon, and Sunday’s demolition derby, there’s a full weekend of programming layered on top of the agricultural roots.
It’s also genuinely built for families. Both weekend days run a dedicated Kid’s Zone with a petting zoo, wagon and barrel train rides, a kiddies’ tractor pull, and free face painting โ so it works equally well as a big night out or a low-key family afternoon.

๐ก A Few Things Worth Knowing
๐ Go early for the demolition derby. Both Saturday and Sunday close with the Moms Motor Sports Demolition Derby at 5:30pm โ it’s the busiest draw of the weekend, so grab a spot with time to spare.
๐ Catch the livestock shows Friday afternoon. The 4-H Dairy Club Show and Dufferin Wellington Holstein Show both run before the evening crowds arrive.
๐ Keep dogs leashed and clean up after them. The fairgrounds are used year-round by the community, and off-leash dogs have been a repeated complaint at the property.
๐ Bring cash or a card for the gate. Tickets are sold on-site, not in advance โ no need to pre-purchase before you go.
