About the 50th Ottawa GreekFest
For half a century, the Hellenic Community of Ottawa has opened its doors to celebrate Greek culture, hospitality, and tradition. The 50th annual GreekFest is a homecoming for the Greek-Canadian community and a genuine cultural feast for everyone. Spread across two long weekends in August, the festival brings authentic Greek music, traditional dancing, real family connection, and some of the best Greek cuisine you’ll find in Ontario — all without charge.
What to Experience
🎶 Live Greek Music
Authentic Greek musicians perform throughout both weekends, from traditional bouzouki to contemporary Greek pop. The energy is infectious.
💃 Traditional Dancing
Watch professional Greek dancers perform traditional regional dances, and join in the fun during dance lessons throughout the festival.
🎭 The Zorba Show
The festival’s legendary highlight — a high-energy, crowd-interactive performance that captures the spirit of Greek celebration. Prepare to dance.

📍 Location & Parking
The festival is held at the Hellenic Event Centre, 1315 Prince of Wales Drive in the Barrhaven area. Ample parking is available on site. Public transit access is available via OC Transpo.
💳 Admission & Payments
Admission to the festival grounds is completely free. Food, beverages, wine, and gift shop items are available for purchase. Cash and card are accepted at most vendors.
👨👩👧👦 Family Days
Special Family Days are held on Saturday, August 16 and Saturday, August 23. These days feature dedicated children’s activities, interactive performances, and family-friendly entertainment. A great time to bring the kids and introduce them to Greek culture.
📚 Learn While You’re There
Drop in on Greek language lessons, traditional dance workshops, wine seminars, or church tours conducted throughout the festival. These are informal, interactive sessions — no booking required.
🌞 Weather & What to Bring
August weather in Ottawa can be warm and humid. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes. The festival runs rain or shine. Seating is available throughout the grounds.
