✨ Why This Fair Is Worth the Trip
The Stormont Agricultural Society has been running this fair in Newington since 1867, and 2026 marks its 159th year — making it one of the oldest continuously running agricultural fairs in Eastern Ontario. It still runs on the same formula that’s kept farm families coming back for generations: livestock shows, exhibit halls full of homecraft and 4-H entries, and a midway that turns the fairgrounds into a Labour Day destination.
The Friday night Demolition Derby is the marquee event, drawing crowds to the Grandstand for smashed fenders and no assigned seating — arrive early if you want a good view. Saturday brings the “Small Towns, Deep Roots” parade and a full day of horse and cattle shows, live music, and family activities like bubble magic and Little Ray’s Reptiles.
It’s a genuinely packed four days: Sunday alone runs a Western-English Horse Show, a church service, a baby contest, a talent search, and three separate NorthFire Circus performances, while Monday winds down with beef and sheep shows before gates close at 2 PM.

💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
💥 Arrive early for the Demolition Derby. Friday night’s derby has no assigned seating, and disabled seating is limited — get there well before 7 PM.
🎟️ Compare pass vs. daily tickets. If you’re coming more than two days, the $60 Weekend Pass beats buying single-day tickets separately.
👶 Kids under 36″ ride free with an adult for grounds access, though daily or weekend rates apply if they want the midway or Challenge Zone.
🎵 Bring cash for the Dugout. Sunday night’s live music with County Lads is $10 per person at the door, separate from general admission.
