✨ Why Summerfest on Main
Summerfest on Main is a celebration of summer community life in Newmarket’s downtown core. Unlike many traditional festivals with admission fees, this is completely free and opens Main Street to pedestrians and celebration. Historic downtown Newmarket was designed with this kind of gathering in mind, and Summerfest brings it to life across four long summer days.
Live music runs throughout the day, local food vendors showcase their best, and the local business community takes center stage. Whether you’re shopping at independent boutiques, dining at beloved local restaurants, or just hanging out with friends and family, there’s a relaxed summer energy throughout.
It’s an easy escape from Toronto (about 30 minutes north) or a perfect day out for anyone in York Region. The town has also invested in boutique hotels and dining options that make it worth extending your visit into an overnight getaway.
🎵 Festival Schedule by Day
Thursday, August 20
3:00 PM – 11:00 PM. Festival kickoff evening with live music and evening energy. Food vendors and shops open.
Friday, August 21
10:00 AM – 11:00 PM. Full day of live music, activities, and dining. Morning starts the daytime program, evening brings peak attendance.
Saturday, August 22
9:00 AM – 11:00 PM. The longest day with all-day programming. Peak festival energy and family activities. Shopping and dining all day.
Sunday, August 23
10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Closing day with afternoon and early evening programming. Family activities wrap up the festival weekend.
