✨ Why This Fair Is Worth the Drive
The Percy Agricultural Society was established in 1850, and the fair it runs at the Warkworth Fairgrounds is now in its 174th year — a genuinely long unbroken run for a rural Northumberland County fair. The fairgrounds are privately owned by the Society itself, funded through fundraising, sponsorships, and a Legacy Fund set up to preserve the buildings and grounds for future generations.
What stands out about Warkworth is the depth of its agricultural programming. There’s a proper Beef Expo with a purebred beef show, an Ottawa Valley-sanctioned Horse Pull followed by a Pony Pull, sheep shearing demonstrations running three times a day, and a Need-4-Speed horse show that draws serious competitors. That’s balanced against a genuinely full slate of family entertainment — Agri-Music sets throughout both days, a Firefighters Challenge, Rock the Arts puppet shows, and Hot Diggity Dogs performances.
The fair’s charitable side shows up too: the Bake Your Best Pie Contest ends with a live auction during Saturday’s Opening Ceremonies, with proceeds going straight back to support the fair. Add a Sunday pancake breakfast, a classic vehicle show, a Touch-a-Truck, and a Truck & Tractor Pull to close things out, and it’s easy to see why the Percy Agricultural Society calls it “Where Farm & Family Fun Meet.”
The location adds to the appeal. The Warkworth Fairgrounds sit at 24 East Street in Warkworth, part of the Municipality of Trent Hills in Northumberland County, a short drive from Campbellford and Cobourg.
From Highway 401: Take the Cobourg or Brighton exits north toward Warkworth, roughly 20–25 minutes.

💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
🐾 Leave pets at home, even small carried ones. The no-pets policy at the Percy Fairgrounds is strictly enforced, regardless of size or carrier.
🎫 Consider the weekend pass. At $30, it covers all three days and works out cheaper than paying Friday’s $15 plus two more day tickets.
🥞 Get there early Sunday for the pancake breakfast. It runs 8:30–10:30 AM, ahead of most of the day’s programming.
🐎 Plan around the Horse Pull if that’s your thing. It runs Saturday 10:30 AM–12:30 PM, immediately followed by the Pony Pull.
🥧 Enter the pie contest if you bake. Bake Your Best Pie entries are received Saturday morning, with judging and a live charity auction that afternoon.
