Two full days of music, dance, art, and celebration from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM both days. The festival features multiple performance stages, family activities, artisan vendors, food, live art experiences, and much more happening simultaneously across the Merritt Park grounds.

🚗 Getting There & Parking

Merritt Park is located along King Street in downtown Welland, easily accessible by car and regional transit. The waterside location along the Welland Canal is a distinctive landmark in the community.

Street Parking: Limited 2-hour street parking is available along King Street near the park. Arrive early on festival days, especially Saturday morning, as the waterfront lots fill quickly during peak times.

Accessibility: The festival is fully accessible. Merritt Park has accessible washrooms, rest areas, and mobility support throughout the grounds.

Transit & Cycling: Check local transit options for routes to downtown Welland and the canal. The waterfront area is bike-friendly — bring a bike or consider active transit if you’re local.

🌞 Bring sunscreen and a hat. The waterfront festival offers some shade, but August sun is strong. Reapply throughout the day, especially if you’re dancing or spending time near the water.

💧 Stay hydrated. Bring a refillable water bottle — there will be water stations throughout the park. Dancing in August heat requires plenty of fluids.

💵 Bring cash and card. While many vendors accept digital payment, some artisans and food vendors may operate cash-only. ATMs are available but lines can be long during peak times.

👟 Wear comfortable dancing shoes. If you plan to dance, participate in workshops, or be on your feet most of the day, choose shoes that have already been broken in. The festival grounds include some uneven surfaces along the waterfront.
