✨ Why WIDAFEST Matters
WIDAFEST is a celebration of diaspora identity and African excellence in Windsor. Founded in 2021, it has grown into a major cultural event that honors traditions from across Africa, the Caribbean, and African diaspora communities. At Lanspeary Park—a beloved community gathering space—WIDAFEST brings the entire region together in one free, family-welcoming festival.
The 2026 partnership with Toronto Caribbean Carnival is historic. J’ouvert—the iconic street parade tradition with feathers, drums, and celebration—comes to Windsor for the first time alongside world-class drum performances, soca, Afrobeat, and authentic Caribbean and African food.
This is a festival rooted in joy, community, and cultural pride. It’s also a significant contribution to Windsor’s cultural economy and international profile.
