1000 Islands Family Ribfest 2026 – 1000 Islands, ON

1000 Islands Family Ribfest 2026 - 1000 Islands, ON
📅 June 26–28, 2026 📍 Gananoque, Ontario 👪 Family Friendly 🍗 Ribs, Live Music & More
1000 Islands Family Ribfest 2026
Every June, Gananoque trades its quiet riverside pace for three days of smoke, sauce and live music. 1000 Islands Family Ribfest runs Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Lou Jeffries Arena, and it’s officially the smallest community in Canada to host a Ribfest — which somehow makes it hit harder, not softer.
Three professional ribbers competing for bragging rights. A full weekend of touring and local bands covering everything from Celtic folk to rockabilly to classic rock. A duck drop by helicopter. A cornhole tournament. An arts and craft show. And a kids zone busy enough to actually buy parents twenty minutes of peace. Every dollar of profit goes back into Gananoque through the Rotary and Lions Clubs.

💡 Admission is a small $4 per person at the gate for most festival days. Bring some cash — a few vendors are card-only, others cash-only — and there’s an ATM by the beer tent if you get caught short.
✨ Why This Festival Is Worth Your Time
There’s something almost stubborn about a town this size deciding to throw a Ribfest. Gananoque is, by the festival’s own count, the smallest community in Canada to host one — and instead of feeling like a scaled-down version of the bigger-city events, it feels like the opposite. Tighter, friendlier, easier to actually enjoy without fighting crowds for a spot near the stage.
It helps that the whole thing is run by people with a real stake in the outcome. The Rotary Club and Lions Club of Gananoque co-host the festival, and every dollar of profit goes straight back into the community — charities, families, students, local projects. You’re not just buying a rib plate; you’re funding a food bank breakfast and a few dozen other things you’ll never see a receipt for.
And the lineup genuinely earns a full weekend. Three days of live music spanning Celtic, indie pop, funk, blues, rockabilly, country and classic rock. Professional ribbers smoking meat from open to close. An arts and craft show, a cornhole tournament, a duck drop by helicopter, and a kids zone that runs basically nonstop. Whatever mood you show up in, there’s a corner of this festival built for it.
