✨ Why This Fair Is Worth the Drive
Mitchell’s fair has run every Labour Day weekend since 1854, making it one of the oldest agricultural fairs in this part of Ontario — and its “Biggest Little Fair” nickname has stuck for a reason. It’s compact enough to see everything in a day, but packed with enough tradition and community spirit that it never feels thin.
The 172nd edition carries the theme “Fallin’ Into Fun,” organized by the volunteer board of the Mitchell & District Agricultural Society, whose president’s message this year gives a particular shout-out to long-time secretary Janet Horn, marking her 15th and final year in the role.
You’ll find the usual mix that’s kept generations of West Perth families coming back: an exhibit hall of homecraft and baking, livestock displays and 4-H competitions, a midway, and grandstand-style entertainment — all inside the walkable footprint of Keterson Park.
