The Muskoka Music Festival was founded by Miranda Mulholland with a vision of creating something intimate, artist-led, and rooted in her family’s deep history in Gravenhurst. From the beginning, the festival was about more than booking artists — it was about bringing people together in a place where the arts matter.

Over the decade, the festival evolved through different venues and formats. Even during the pandemic, when much of the music industry went quiet, the MMF found a way forward — partnering with Muskoka Drive-In to keep hiring artists and creating community experiences. That commitment to Canadian artists and authentic connection never wavered. Ten years felt like the right arc for this chapter, and 2026 is the perfect time to close with the kind of night that will be remembered for a lifetime.

🏛️ The Gravenhurst Opera House

The venue itself is part of the story. Built 125 years ago by Charles Mickle (a sawmill owner and mayor of Gravenhurst), the Opera House has been bringing people together to celebrate arts and culture for over a century. Today, it remains an intimate jewel — approximately 300 seats, excellent acoustics, and a stage steeped in history.

A family legacy: Miranda Mulholland’s great-great-grandfather built this building. To stand on this stage as the festival’s artistic director, in a building her family helped create, carries profound meaning. A century and a quarter later, the room still brings people together.

By Car: Parking available at the Opera House and throughout downtown Gravenhurst. Many attendees make a Muskoka weekend of it and stay at nearby cottages, resorts, or hotels.

💡 Tips for Your Visit

🎫 Book early. As of late May, 50% of tickets were sold. This is the final festival and a significant cultural event in Muskoka — don’t wait.

🍷 Enjoy the Rock Bar. Open starting at 6:30 PM, the bar allows you to settle in with a drink before the 7:30 PM show. Get there early to soak in the venue and meet fellow music lovers.
