✨ Why BrazilFest Is Worth the Trip

BrazilFest started as one woman’s dream to share a piece of home in a new city. Arilda de Oliveira, originally from Minas Gerais, founded the festival as a small community gathering, and it’s since grown into the largest Brazilian cultural festival in Canada — now marking its 20th year in 2026.

The festival takes over Earlscourt Park in Toronto’s West End for a full weekend, with thousands of visitors passing through the gates, more than 50 vendors and exhibitors, and over 20 performers bringing samba, forró, and carnival energy to the park.

Whether you grew up with this music or you’re discovering it for the first time, BrazilFest is built to be an easy, joyful way to spend a summer weekend — good food, good rhythm, and a crowd that treats every visitor like family.

🚋 Getting There & Parking

Earlscourt Park sits in Toronto’s West End, along St. Clair Avenue West near Lansdowne Avenue.

Streetcar & bus: The 512 St. Clair streetcar and connecting buses along St. Clair Avenue West run right past the park — the easiest way to arrive without worrying about parking.

Parking: There’s no dedicated festival parking lot. Street parking is available in the surrounding residential blocks, but it fills up fast — arriving by transit is easier, especially in the evening.

💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go

🚋 Skip the car if you can. There’s no festival parking lot, and street parking around the park disappears fast — the St. Clair streetcar drops you right at the door.

🆔 Bring ID if you want a caipirinha. The beverage garden is licensed and fenced, and it’s 19+ only.

☀️ It’s an open park. Bring sun protection and a water bottle — you’ll likely be out for hours between the food, the music, and the marketplace.

🍽️ Come hungry. Churrasco, pastéis, and brigadeiros are the star of the show — pace yourself so you can try a bit of everything.
