Do West Fest 2026 — Toronto’s Start to the Summer
For one weekend every June, sixteen blocks of Dundas Street West shut their doors to traffic and throw them wide open to everyone else. Do West Fest is Little Portugal’s big annual street party — live music, food from the neighbourhood’s own restaurants, art, dancing, buskers, and the unmistakable buzz of a whole community spilling out onto the pavement.
Running Friday June 5 to Sunday June 7, 2026, this is the 13th edition of what’s quietly become one of the best free festivals in the city. Presented by the Little Portugal Toronto BIA and produced by Uma Nota Culture, it stretches from Ossington to Lansdowne — and it’s the kind of place you wander into for an hour and somehow leave after five.

If you ask people for their favourite Toronto street festival, Do West Fest comes up again and again — and for good reason. It manages something a lot of big festivals don’t: it actually feels like the neighbourhood it’s in. The food comes from the restaurants you walk past. The shops you love stay open and spill onto the sidewalk. The music ranges from emerging local acts to seasoned performers, and it’s all happening on a street you can stroll end to end.
It started over a decade ago as a modest community event (you may remember it as Dundas West Fest) and has grown into a weekend that draws huge crowds along Dundas West. Sixteen blocks go car-free, and the whole stretch turns into one long, walkable celebration of Little Portugal’s food, culture, and creativity.

🚗 Getting Here
Dundas St W is closed to cars all weekend, so transit, biking, or a ride share drop-off nearby is the way to go. Here’s the lay of the land:
🚉 Transit (recommended)
The 505 Dundas streetcar runs right along the route (it may divert around the closure, but nearby stops still get you there). On Line 2 Bloor–Danforth, Ossington, Dufferin, and Lansdowne stations are all a 10–15 minute walk south to Dundas St W.
🚲 Biking & Bike Share
Bike racks are scattered along Dundas St W and the side streets — bring a lock. Bike Share Toronto has several stations near the festival between Ossington and Lansdowne.
🚃 GO Transit (from out of town)
Exhibition GO Station is closest — connect to the 505 streetcar from there. Or take it to Union Station and transfer to the TTC subway/streetcar toward the festival.
🚗 Ride Share & Wheel-Trans
Vehicles can’t enter the closed street, so get dropped at a nearby open intersection: Ossington & Dundas, Dovercourt & Dundas, Dufferin & Dundas, or Lansdowne & Dundas — all a short walk in.
🚧 Parking
There’s no on-site parking and the street is closed to vehicles. Look for street parking or lots in the surrounding neighbourhoods — but honestly, transit or a bike is far easier.
💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go
🍔 Come hungry, bring cash. The food is half the reason to go — neighbourhood restaurants and trucks line the whole route. Some vendors are cash-only, so come prepared.
🚶 Walk the whole strip. Every block has its own character. Don’t plant yourself at one stage — the fun is in wandering Ossington to Lansdowne and seeing what you stumble into.
🚉 Skip the car. Dundas St W is closed to traffic and there’s no on-site parking. The 505 streetcar and Ossington/Dufferin/Lansdowne stations make it painless.
🧸 Great with kids. Children’s activities, face painting, and interactive art make this an easy family day — Sunday afternoon is the calmest stretch for little ones.
