The Streetsville Founders’ Bread & Honey Festival 2026

Every June, the old village of Streetsville does something it has done faithfully since 1973: it throws a party for the whole community. The Bread and Honey Festival returns for its 54th year over three days — Friday June 5, Saturday June 6 and Sunday June 7, 2026 — spread across the leafy 30 acres of Streetsville Memorial Park on the banks of the Credit River.

The name comes straight from the town’s roots: Timothy Street built the area’s first flour mill, local apiaries supplied the honey, and to this day the festival hands out slices of fresh bread slathered in honey. Around that simple tradition has grown a full weekend of midway rides, live music on three stages, the famous SuperDogs, a Rotary pancake breakfast, and a brand-new car show. It’s old-fashioned in the best way.

If you grew up anywhere near Mississauga, chances are Bread and Honey is already woven into your early-summer memories — the smell of mini doughnuts, a slice of honey-soaked bread, the rumble of the midway. And if you’ve never been, it’s exactly the kind of unpretentious, genuinely fun community event that big cities don’t make many of anymore.

It started in 1973 as a small idea from the Town of Streetsville’s promotion committee. The very first one was such a hit that it became an annual tradition, and over five decades it has grown into a full three-day weekend run almost entirely by volunteers from the Kinsmen, Lions and Rotary clubs and the wider community.

What keeps people coming back is the price and the heart. Five dollars gets you a full day, kids get in free, and the park itself — a natural amphitheatre on the Credit River — is a lovely place to spend an afternoon. It’s a smoke-free, family-first festival that still feels like the village it grew out of.

The festival is held in Streetsville Memorial Park in Mississauga, with the main entrance on Church Street. There is no on-site parking, so plan to use nearby street and lot parking and walk in — and remember several roads close around the park during the weekend. Tap below for live driving directions.

💡 A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Go

🍳 Come for the bread and honey on the weekend. It’s only served Saturday and Sunday, not Friday night — so if the namesake treat is the whole point for you, plan accordingly.

🥞 Reserve the pancake breakfast. Sunday’s Rotary breakfast fills up — reserve a spot through the festival site, as only limited walk-ins are available on the day. Your $10 adult ticket includes festival admission.

👶 Bringing little ones? Save Busy Bee Island and the Kids Stage for Saturday or Sunday — they’re closed Friday. Kids 12 and under get in free every day.

🚗 Leave the dog (and the bike) at home. No dogs, bicycles, rollerblades, scooters or coolers are allowed on the grounds, and roads around the park close during the festival, so give yourself extra time to park and walk in.

🎉 Need a quieter entrance? The sensory-friendly VIP gate (Main Street via the Culham Trail) is open Saturday and Sunday and offers direct, low-stimulation access to Busy Bee Island for families with exceptional needs.
