Ten festivals and markets across Toronto, Mississauga, North York, Mono and Bradford — the CNE’s closing weekend, the Snowbirds’ Air Show farewell, four free downtown cultural festivals, and a couple of easy out-of-town day trips.

⚠️ Heads up on look-alikes: Bark in the Park TO is not a separate trip — it runs inside Toronto BuskerFest at the same Woodbine Park site, so it’s covered in one combined card below. The Air Show is CNE’s ticketed/free finale at a separate waterfront viewing zone a short walk from the main CNE grounds — treat them as one outing with two access options, not two destinations.

The Egyptian Coptic Festival 2026
Sat 1–11pm · Sun 1–9pm · Celebration Square
North America’s largest celebration of Egyptian and Coptic culture, now drawing over 20,000 visitors in its ninth year — completely free both days. Live music, cultural performances, kids’ programming and a marketplace of 40-60 local vendors fill Mississauga’s civic square.
💡 Saturday runs to 11pm; Sunday wraps two hours earlier at 9pm — better for families wanting a full day without a late night.

CNE 2026 — Closing Weekend
Runs to Sep 7 · Gates 10am–10pm (5pm Labour Day)
The Ex closes out its 18-day run this Labour Day weekend — the giant midway, Bandshell concerts now partnered with NXNE, the Food Building, and Kids’ World are all still in full swing before the fair wraps Monday. This is the finale stretch, so expect it busy.

Canadian International Air Show

Canada’s largest and oldest airshow, and 2026 is billed as a rare farewell performance from the Snowbirds before a multi-year pause — plus two acts making their CIAS debut, Pink Jet and the Jack Aces P-51 formation team. Watch free from the CNE grounds and public waterfront spots, or pay for front-row seating with narration in the Exclusive Air Show Zone.
💡 This is CNE’s closing-weekend finale at a separate viewing zone in Marilyn Bell Park — a 10-20 min walk from the main CNE grounds, not a different trip.

Toronto BuskerFest for Epilepsy + Bark in the Park TO

One of North America’s biggest busker gatherings, fundraising for Epilepsy Toronto since 2000 — circus acts, fire performers, magicians and comedians from around the world. The dog-focused Bark in the Park TO runs inside the same grounds all four days, with the Canine Circus, a pet costume contest Saturday, and agility/frisbee world champions performing — one donation covers both.

Canada’s biggest free platform for emerging jazz artists — 130+ musicians from Canada, the US and Romania, alongside Grammy and JUNO winners running free masterclasses open to everyone. A new Late Night Jam Session debuts Saturday, plus a Kids Zone running all weekend.

Toronto Dragon Festival 2026

Free celebration of Chinese culture at Nathan Phillips Square — high-pole lion dances, traditional dragon performances, and the Canadian debut of Chaoshan Yingge Dance. A new AI Innovation Showcase and multicultural performance lineup sit alongside the traditional programming, plus a Luminati Night Light Show and Asian street food.
💡 Saturday is the biggest day — full performance lineup, the light show, and fashion runway all land that evening.

Navrang Navratri Festival Canada

Billed as North America’s largest Navratri garba celebration — this isn’t one event but a nine-night season running into late October, and four of those nights land right on this Labour Day weekend, each with a different Gujarati playback singer headlining live garba and dandiya raas.

Orangeville Fall Fair 2026
Fri–Sun · Demolition derby Sat & Sun 5:30pm
A 172-year-old Dufferin County tradition just northeast of Orangeville — full midway, truck and tractor pulls, dairy and livestock shows, and the Moms Motor Sports Demolition Derby running both Saturday and Sunday evenings. A dedicated Kid’s Zone (petting zoo, wagon rides, face painting) runs 10am–6pm both weekend days.
🐕 The fairgrounds are technically in the Town of Mono, a short drive from downtown Orangeville, not in Orangeville itself.

Ashkenaz Festival 2026 — Closing Weekend
Fri–Sun · Runs since Aug 30, wraps up in North York
North America’s largest Jewish cultural festival started in Kensington Market back on August 30 — this Labour Day weekend is its closing stretch, moving up to North York. Friday’s midtown Shul Crawl visits three synagogues; Saturday’s free evening at Earl Bales Park builds to a 40th-anniversary Klezmatics concert; Sunday’s “Last Hoorah” at Sherman Campus runs a full day with an artisan market, the Ashkenaz Parade, and headliner Michael Winograd closing the festival.
